Ukraine, Synagogue in Mukachevo (Mukaczewo, Munkacs, Mukatschewo, Mukaczeve, Munkacz)

The synagogue was located at Fo Street (The Main Street). Now it is destroyed. The place where the synagogue stood (new building now) is located near Valenberga / Uzgorodzka streets, about 50 meters from Town Hall. The plaque is on the new building.

The synagogue in 1908

The Main Street (Fo utca) - the synagogue is located on the left (picture from 1916)

The synagogue in 1930 - first building on the left (at that time it was Masaryk Street)

The place where the synagogue stood (now there is the new pink house located - on the right from the tree)

As you may see when you compare the picture from 1930 with this one from 2005: the first house from the right survived the war while the second house (now the new pink house) did not survive the war, because there was the synagogue
